Healing Damaged Emotions

Summer 2012

Intergenerational Sunday Seminars

Healing Damaged Emotions

Emotions greatly influence how we live our lives. They are a gift from God, provided so we can enjoy life and relate to others, but how we express them determines whether they are beneficial or detrimental. Either we control them, or they control us.  Come out for engaging, thoughtful, biblically based discussion on emotions that hinder us in living victoriously in Christ.

Age appropriate, separate discussion will also be provided for elementary age students.

ZUMBA! Saturday mornings at Park Avenue Church

Park Avenue UMC Congregational Care and Life Committee has been sponsoring Zumba every Saturday morning from 10-11am?  This class was started as a result of the 2 Health Fairs that were held on Sunday mornings in the Gathering  Room  in 2010.  The committee wanted to continue the theme of taking care of our Body/Mind/Spirit.

WHAT IS ZUMBA?  Zumba is a fun class of dance moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same are all the elements the Zumba Fitness-Party is known for: the zesty Latin music, like salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton; the exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves.  It’s a dance-fitness class that feels friendly, and most of all, FUN.   Certified Instructor:  Emilia Campos

WHO:   ADULTS AND YOUNG ADULTS – ALL WELCOME! Open to men & women.

WHERE:   Park Avenue UMC, 3400 Park Ave. Minneapolis – Come in around the back through the parking lot entrance.

WHEN:  10-11:00am on Saturdays

COST:  $3 fee per class; pay as you go!

WHAT TO WEAR? Comfortable, modest/appropriate clothing and shoes, bring your own water bottle

CHILDCARE -  $2 per child – $5 FOR FAMILY OF 3KIDS
